How Does a Solenoid Valve Work

The two-position three-way solenoid valve is usually used in conjunction with a single-acting pneumatic actuator. The two-position is controllable in two positions: on and off. The three-way has three channels for ventilation. In general, one channel is connected to the air source, and the other two One channel is connected to the air inlet of the actuator, and one is connected to the air outlet of the actuator.

The two-position five-way solenoid valve is usually used in conjunction with a double-acting pneumatic actuator. The two positions are controllable in two positions: on and off. The five-way valve has five channels for ventilation, of which one is connected to the air source, and two are connected to the double The inlet and outlet ports of the outer chamber of the working cylinder are connected, and the two are connected with the inlet and outlet ports of the inner chamber.

In the gas circuit (or liquid circuit), the two-position three-way solenoid valve has 1 air inlet (connected to the air source), 1 air outlet (provided to the target equipment air source), and 1 exhaust hole ( Generally install a muffler). The two-position five-way solenoid valve has 1 air inlet (connected to the air source), 1 positive-acting air outlet and 1 counter-acting air outlet (respectively provided to the target equipment with a positive and negative air source), 1 One positive action exhaust hole and one reverse action exhaust hole (with muffler installed).

The figure above is a simplified diagram of a commonly used two-position five-way solenoid valve. As can be seen from the figure, 1 is the intake pipe, 2 and 4 are the outlet pipes, and 3 and 5 are the exhaust pipes. When coil 12 is energized, the valve works in the right valve position, the intake air is discharged from 1 through valve 2 and the gas in pipe 4 is discharged from valve 5; when coil 14 is energized, the valve works in the left valve position, and the air intake is from 1 It goes out from 4 through the valve, and the gas in pipe 2 is discharged from 3 through the valve.
